On the 19th of november Yukie Mokuo, UNICEF Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic,
gave inspiring and instructive lecture on children’s rights for the students of Psychological Counseling and Elementary School Teaching departments.
The lecture was dedicated to November 20 - the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Convention changed the way children are viewed and treated – i.e., as human beings with a distinct set of rights instead of as passive objects of care and charity.
“I'm happy that our country has such organization that protects and cares about children.
There are many injustices everywhere around us, which is actually very difficult to control.
But UNICEF helps to prevent it and make equality between those children, who needs our help and love,” commented a student of Psychological Counseling department after the lecture.
“Knowing about children’ rights will help us to protect them better.
I am thankful for the lecture, it was informative,”- shared a student from Elementary School Teaching department.
